My X account went from 2 followers to 1,086 between July 10 and October 4, 2026, net of 118 unfollows, mostly by replying under bigger accounts, sending every reply myself. It crossed 1,000 on September 29, and 1,018 of those followers came in the last 60 days. That is one account, not a promise. Here are the numbers straight from X analytics, including the weeks that were slow.

Was growth steady?
No. The first four weeks gave 73 net followers. The last four weeks gave 759. Nothing happened for a while, then the routine started to compound.
Did one big post do it?
No. My biggest day for impressions (Aug 13, 33,230 views) brought 5 followers. My best day for followers (Sep 22) had 8,289 views and brought 66. People followed after a reply or a post they found useful, not because something went wide.
What did I actually do?
Every day: replied to people with an audience, posted a few of my own, and answered whoever answered me. Written to sound like me, and I sent every reply myself.
